How It Works​

ePay's Age Verification adapts based on the selected payment method:

  • MobilePay: Leverages existing customer age data, allowing the payment to proceed without additional steps. If the customer doesn't meet the age requirement, the payment is declined within the MobilePay/Vipps app.

  • Credit Cards and Other Methods: Customers are prompted to verify their age via MitID within the payment window. Successful verification allows the payment to proceed; otherwise, the transaction is halted.

We securely store the results of each age verification, providing you with documented proof of compliance.

Streamlined Experience for Returning Customers​

To enhance user convenience, ePay allows you to store age verification results, so repeat customers aren't prompted for age validation on subsequent purchases. This can be achieved by:

  • Storing Results Locally: Receive the verification outcome and save it within your system, associating it with the customer's profile.

  • Using Unique Customer IDs: Send a unique customer ID with each payment request. ePay associates this ID with the verification result, bypassing the age check for future transactions with the same ID.
